Looking for Support?

Global learning advising drop-ins

January 13th, 2025 - January 15th, 2025: Drop-ins from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM

January 16th, 2025 onwards: Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00 - 3:00 PM, Wednesdays 10:30am to 12:30pm with peer advisors at the Student Services Hub Hello Desk.

Immigration Advising (1st & 2nd Year Students)

Appointments for first and second year students to get advice on immigration matters including:

Immigration Advising (3rd Year & Beyond Students, Graduate Students and Recent Grads)

Upper-year students (3rd year & beyond) and recent grads get advice on immigration matters including;

  • Post-graduation work permit
  • Co-op work permit
  • Permanent Residence
  • Citizenship
  • Refugee status

Global Learning Advising

Learn how to add international experience to your studies via the exciting array of travel, study, research or internship opportunities available through Exchange, UTM Abroad and Global Classrooms.


Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Debrief and Coaching

In this 30-minute debrief and coaching appointment, a Qualified Administrator (QA) will go over your IDI Individual Profile Report as well as go over your Individual Development Plan. The goal is to help you understand where you are at in terms of your intercultural learning journey and help you create a plan to enhance your intercultural competence. International Student Coaching

International Student Coaching is designed to help you navigate your academic journey at UTM with confidence. Whether you need support with time management, study strategies, goal setting, or adapting to university life, our professional coaches and peer coaches are here to guide you. These appointments provide a space to discuss challenges, explore solutions, and connect with the right campus resources to help you succeed.

How to Book an Appointment


Appointments can be booked Monday through Friday. Appointments are 30 minutes. 

Follow these steps to book your appointment today:

  1. Login to Folio(opens in a new tab).
  2. Click the “Appointments” button in the “Find what you want here” section.
    1. You can also visit/bookmark: https://folio.utoronto.ca/students/appointments/
  3. Type “IEC” to see available appointments
  4. Choose your preferred day.
    1. A list of available appointments will appear.
  5. Select your preferred appointment.
    1. Review the details included.
  6. Select your preferred format (below the details).
  7. Click “Book”.
