Essay by DVS student Hafsa Murtaza featured in utmONE Scholars
The research of second-year Art & Art History student Hafsa Murtaza was selected for the recent issue of utmONE Scholar. Hafsa was interested in Mohammad Iqbal’s poems, Shikwa (Complaint)and Jawaz-e-Shikwa (Answer to the Complaint), which instilled an Islamic identity in the colonized Indian subcontinent; her research paper probes how these poems could do the same in present-day Western society. She writes about how the poems can be implemented into Neoliberal universities through Islamic education philosophy.
