Seeking Members for New Community Advisory Board
The CCDMP is seeking Community Advisory Board Members to play a key role in guiding the direction of our Centre’s activities and policies. These may include community-led training programs for early years and child care service providers, community-based research, community engagement strategies, knowledge translation materials, and conferences and other events.
What does the Community Advisory Board do?
- Provides critical thinking, current knowledge, and feedback on CCDMP materials and proposals. This may include reviewing documents (e.g., policy briefs)
- Applies lived and professional experiences to advise on CCDMP community-based programs, training and interventions, and research to strengthen their relevance and effectiveness and ensure approaches are equitable and sustainable.
What are the time commitment and expectations?
- Two-year commitment beginning December 2024, renewable for another two years upon agreement.
- Available to participate in two online meetings each year.
- Able to complete associated tasks in between meetings at own pace.
What are you looking for in a member?
Community Advisory Board members will have experience in working with Canadian communities, specifically with children, youth, and their families, and/or have lived experience as a member of such communities. They will bring their experience in the early years, education, or public health to the table as they work with the CCDMP leadership team to ensure that our work addresses and reflects the strengths and needs of these communities in Ontario and across Canada.
This would be a great opportunity for those who are committed to community engagement and education, and who have a keen interest in mental health research and resource development.
This is a volunteer role but as a token of our appreciation, a small honorarium will be offered. CAB members will receive a letter of confirmation from the CCDMP Director acknowledging their work.
