2023-2024 Arabinda Guha Graduate Research Scholarship in Cellular and Molecular Biology Winners

First year Graduate students, Amber Akbar and Yasir Al-Zubaidy, have been chosen as the winners of the 2023-2024 Arabinda Guha Graduate Research Scholarship in Cellular and Molecular Biology! The winner(s) of this scholarship are chosen annually by faculty members in the Biology department in recognition of the student's outstanding work in their program.

Yasir is a first year MSc student in the Erclik Lab, and Amber is a first year MSc student in the Cheng Lab. In 2023, while an undergraduate student, Amber also won the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award for her project, "Investigating the Role of Beta-Arrestins in Circadian Timekeeping".

Congratulations to both Amber and Yasir on their achievement and all the best to them in their future studies and research!
