Background: I am a neuroimmunologist and expert in multiple sclerosis (MS) experimental models. My research focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which autoimmune inflammatory processes mediate demyelination and neurodegeneration in MS. This is an extremely important area of research since the presently available MS disease-modifying drugs minimally impact progressive MS. I am closely collaborating with the neurologists and MS experts at Johns Hopkins MS Center.
