Qasim Khan is a Dora Award nominated actor and a graduate of the theatre and drama studies program at U of T Mississauga. In 2011, Khan was selected as one of eight actors from across the country to join Soulpepper Theatre Company's academy—a performance and training residency—where he was mentored by some of the country's leading classical actors and directors. In his time at the academy, he performed roles in The Crucible, The Royal Comedians and Dirt—a collective creation that was profiled in the U of T Mississauga magazine.
In 2013, Khan was appointed an International Actor Fellow of Shakespeare's Globe in London, England. After his time in London, he joined the cast of the Canadian hit musical Do You Want What I Have Got: A Craigslist Cantata, which toured across Canada to Alberta Theatre Projects, Citadel Theatre, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. His starring role in Theatre Direct's acclaimed Beneath the Banyan Tree earned Khan a Dora nomination for Outstanding Performance - Individual.
Aside from his work in theatre, Khan can be seen on hit TV shows such as Nikita, Saving Hope, Dan for Mayor, Little Mosque on the Prairie and the upcoming Riftworld Chronicles on CBC Punchline.
He is currently featured in the Alice Through The Looking Glass and Anne of Green Gables: The Musical at the Charlottetown Festival. Watch for Khan in the upcoming North American premiere of Das Ding (The Thing) at the Canadian Stage Company.
