From adult education consultant to C-suite executive, top 40 alumna Jess Mann has built a successful career on the foundations of her commerce degree from U of T Mississauga.
Mann is partner, technology solutions at MNP LLP. Previously, she was chief operating officer at Mantralogix, Inc., a Mississauga-based company that focused on the human side of technology that recently merged with MNP LLP. Under her five years of leadership, Mantralogix grew from a team of 6 to over 30 and doubled top-line growth. Founded by Mann's husband, Kerry Mann, Mantralogix was recognized as Small Business of the Year for 2015 by the Mississauga Board of Trade. In the same year, Women of Influence selected Mann and her husband as a Canadian Dynamic Duo for their co-gendered leadership of Mantralogix.
Prior to joining Mantralogix in 2011, Mann spent 15 years with Scotiabank as the managing director and head of Scotiatrust. Mann was one of the pioneers of Scotiabank's Leading Edge program, a leadership development program aimed at providing emerging leaders with cross-divisional and leadership competency development opportunities.
In 2004, she was selected as one of 14 women worldwide to participate in the International Women's Forum Leadership Foundation program for emerging female leaders. The innovative one-year program provided her with opportunities to study at both Harvard and Cambridge Universities, and to network with successful professionals and entrepreneurial women from around the world.
Before joining the banking world, Mann earned her MA in adult education at Central Michigan University, and worked with the Peel Board of Education where she consulted with adult students on career direction, training and educational priorities. She earned the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation through the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario, and has completed the Canadian Securities Course through the Canadian Securities Institute.
Mann, her husband and their two daughters are active supporters of many charitable organizations including Eden Food for Change and a scholarship, established by her family, for Digital Enterprise Management students at the University of Toronto Mississauga. Mann is also the past chair of the Board of Governors for St. Mildred’s-Lightbourn School, a private school committed to the education of young women.
