Nikita Fernandes graduated from the management specialist BBA program program in 2013 and months later joined Novo Nordisk Canada's marketing department, supporting the company's leading insulin brands. In 2015, she joined Novo Nordisk's innovative diabetes education program team and now leads the team's national marketing function, as well supports the execution of the program's brand strategy.
Fernandes is a passionate contributor to all projects that she is involved in and credits the UTM atmosphere for building on the fundamentals of teamwork and creativity. During her time at UTM, Fernandes was heavily involved in the Student Management Association (SMA), supporting the marketing directors for two years and eventually taking on the role of finance director. In her final year, Fernandes led the SMA's highly successful, first ever charity event—an event that has since continued annually.
Being able to combine her passions for making a difference, contributing to team environments and connecting with many people in a creative space, Fernandes is extremely grateful for the journey that she has had so far and is inspired by the road ahead.
In her spare time, Fernandes enjoys acting as a coach and mentor to undergraduate students and continuing to build on her skills for personal development.
