IEC Programming Assistants

IEC Programming Assistants support the planning and development stages of the Student Development Officer, International Students portfolio. This includes, but is not limited to on-campus partnership development, program development promotion strategies, creation and development of training plans and materials, acting as a mentor for student staff, and creating materials for the International Education Centre. IEC Programming Assistants work directly with IEC Peer Leaders to create and organize the initiaitives in the IEC Activities and Events program.     

IEC Peer Leaders

IEC Peer Leaders support the planning, creation, and delivery of programs in the International Education Centre. This includes on-campus partnership development, program marketing and promotion strategies, acting as a mentor for IEC Peer Ambassadors, and creating materials for the International Education Centre. Programs and outreach in this role are intended to help transition and welcome incoming international students to UTM, Mississauga, and Canada and build a sense of community and connectedness, as well as reach the rest of the internationally-minded student body to provide opportunities that build an international experience at home.

IEC Peer Ambassadors

IEC Peer Ambassadors are a group of upper year students, covering a mix of domestic and international experiences, who welcome and engage with groups of first-year international students. IEC Peer Ambassadors act as a resource to assist and support international students in their transition into UTM, Mississauga, and Canada. IEC Peer Ambassadors will reach out to incoming international students as they arrive on-campus and remain connected to students over the academic year through a variety of events and initiatives that build a sense of community and connectedness, and support a sense of belonging.

Study Abroad Assistants

The Study Abroad Assistants are ambassadors of the IEC that work to promote study abroad opportunities. These assistants are focused on developing strategies that will not only engage students, but encourage them to globalize their experience.

UTM Abroad Assistants

The UTM Abroad Assistants are ambassadors of the IEC that work to promote new opportunities to participate in both curricular and co-curricular abroad opportunities.
