Resources for LGBTQ Students

Many students have concerns about planning their careers; for some LGBTQ students, there may be additional aspects to consider. When choosing your career and looking for work, issues may arise, such as disclosure to employers and co-workers, finding careers that fit with your values and locating employers that are LGBTQ friendly.

If you would like to discuss issues related to your career decision making, our Career Counsellors can help; please make an individual appointment by calling 905-828-5451 or coming in to DV 3094. We can help you to understand what is important to you in making your career decision and how to translate that into career options and potential employers.

We also have resources in our Career Library and the e-Book collection that can help, such as:

  • The Pink Pages: Toronto’s Lesbian and Gay Community, Market 3.34, located in our Directories section - listings of services, retail and community groups that are LGBTQ friendly
  • Job Search Strategies, Market 3.34 – section for LGBTQ students with articles on the work search and issues to consider
