Join the AARC Volunteer Outreach & Support Team!
Volunteer Outreach Assistants play an important role by reaching out to the University of Toronto Mississauga community and building awareness about the Centre’s note-taking program and other services.
- Display booths: Volunteers will lead display booths by providing information about the Centre's note-taking program and other services. Volunteers will participate in various campus events such as the Get Experience Fair, Health and Wellness Fair and the AccessAbility Summer Transition Program.
- In-class announcements: Volunteers will make short in-class announcements to recruit note-takers. Volunteers will discuss the responsibilities of note-takers and the benefits of volunteering. Job shadowing training sessions will be provided.
Volunteer Support Assistants will work one-on-one assisting students with disabilities in their activities on campus. Activities may include providing assistance in the library, support during lectures/tutorials/labs, and assistance with mobility on campus.
